About the ICPG
We are an Incorporated Society of New Zealand independent pharmacy owners formed to be an advocacy body for community pharmacies.
Our purpose is to represent NZ independent community pharmacy owners and to promote, protect and improve owner-operated community pharmacies in NZ.
Our first step was to take legal action against one or more DHBs/Te Whatu Ora districts, for their approach to granting service agreements to allow new pharmacies to operate.
We have made a submission to the Health Select Committee on pharmacy ownership, and to the Petitions Committee on removal of the co-payment. Our position papers and submissions are on the ‘news’ page.
We advocate for our members to ensure fair, reasonable, and equitable decisions are made by Te Whatu Ora in their commissioning of Integrated Community Pharmacy Service Agreements.
Application for membership of the ICPG is open to independent pharmacy owners (shareholders with 5 or fewer pharmacies).
Your membership will be anonymous and will involve a financial contribution to the costs of the work done by the ICPG.

"Community pharmacies vs corporates:
the difference in care is stark and substantial"
Pharmacy healthcare run by health professionals without interference from corporate business interests is the best way to support equitable and safe access to medicines and quality pharmacy services for all New Zealanders now and into the future.
Read our Submission on the Removal of Prescription Charges
To ensure everyone has access to the healthcare they need, we strongly recommend that the Government remove the patient co-payment on prescriptions for everyone, including those patients who are not CSC holders.
Read our Constitution
As an Incorporated Society we are required to have a constitution (set of rules) that establish our 'objects' (purpose), and how we will operate.
